I’m going to let you in on a little secret… Most days I feel like I’m just playing at a grown-up & it constantly astounds me that I am living my dream of working for myself & making a career out of photography. And yet, here we are at the close of the year 2015 & it has sped by in a blur of 89 different photoshoot projects, including 33 incredible weddings & travel that has taken me to 6 countries across 3 different continents. 2015 also held my 5-year anniversary of working for myself & I have achieved & hugely exceeded every single goal I set for myself this year, both personally & professionally.

That living dream I mentioned? I am forever grateful for each & every person who believes in my vision & puts their trust in me for photography. I suppose when you are a creative soul, you are your own hardest critic – always pushing through sweat & tears to delivery above & beyond – & I put a little piece of my heart & soul into each wedding I have the privilege of curating. Wedding photography is not just for my couples, not just for now, but for their children… & their children’s children… & all the generations to follow. At one of my weddings in 2015, a little girl asked me why I was taking photographs of her mum & daddy, the bride & groom. ‘For you to show your children when they grow up’, I answered & she beamed back at me with her proudest smile. That is why I do what I do & why I love what I do. I have tried my hardest to make my round-up post as concise as possible, but this is the best I can do folks. From an initial 1,656 images selected, what follows are memories from 2015 that make my heart skip. Moments that made my skin goosebump, moments that made me laugh, brought a tear to my eye & took my breath away.

To my couples of 2015… I can’t find words other than a sincere ‘Thank You’!

And what does 2016 hold? Adventure, love & more heart-skips. The New Year has already brought me a new beautiful baby niece in Lily & will be the year I am a bridesmaid to my dad as he marries his long-term love. 2016 will be filled with family & friends, travel to far-flung destinations of Myanmar (formally Burma), Thailand, Iceland amongst others & of course many more weddings. 26 weddings already have their place firmly in my diary & I am allowing only a couple more. This year I am bringing myself back to the reasons why I wanted to work for myself since the age of 12 & I am carefully selecting what I give my energy to & what brings me joy. I will be showcasing my images at the Most Curious Wedding Fair on 12th & 13th March, which I also photographed the campaign shoot for, so do come along to that if you’d like to meet me. If my photography resonates with you & you are planning your own love adventure, then I would love to hear from you. For now, enjoy this little (or, rather large) piece of my heart…

If you are planning your 2016 wedding in the UK or throughout Europe or even further afield, I would love to document it for you. Please do get in touch here.
