An Old-town Rattanakosin Flower Market Destination Wedding Engagement Shoot in Bangkok, Thailand – Anastasia & Miro
It was my second morning in Bangkok, Thailand & I had just received the news that my beloved Granda had passed away. Being so very far away from my family at such an emotional time was crushing & I toyed with the idea of cancelling my photoshoot plans to get an earlier flight home to England. Later that afternoon I was to meet up with Anastasia & Miro, a gorgeous Russian couple who have lived in Thailand for the past few years & booked a photoshoot with me when they heard of my travels to Bangkok. I stared hard at myself in the mirror & came to realise that my Granda would want me to carry on – carry on with my adventure, carry on with my photography plans & carry on creating something beautiful. There & then I made a promise to him that I will always carry on & always make him proud, so I spoke with Anastasia, dried my tears & headed out to meet the couple as planned.
This would turn out to be one of my favourite shoots ever, in an incredible setting with a wonderfully sweet & beautiful couple. I’m so, so glad to have carried on & spent this time with Anastasia & Miro, wandering around Rattanakosin, the old-town part of Bangkok, visiting the flower markets & taking in the colours, smells, textures & sounds that Thailand offers, passing monks & working locals as we journeyed. The following day was to be Anastasia’s birthday, so we finished our shoot with cake & iced coffee in her honour – thank you both for being part of my journey & I’m so pleased to have met you, too. So much love, Nx
