Bangkok engagement shoot, Thailand

Alternative London wedding photographer – A Wat Arun Bangkok engagement shoot, Thailand destination wedding – Lilly & Kyle

When my alarm chimed to wake me 6am, I silently cursed myself at having organised a photoshoot so early in the day. Though after taking a boat ride across the Chao Phraya river that runs through Bangkok to meet engaged New Zealanders Lilly & Kyle for their Bangkok engagement shoot ahead of their Thailand destination wedding. The hazy morning sunshine & nigh-deserted Wat Arun (aptly named ‘Temple of the Dawn’) made it completely worthwhile. The couple had flown to Thailand with plans to have their Koh Phi Phi elopement wedding a few days later on a southern Thailand beach & wanted a photographic record of their adventure. As the golden sun rose across the city of Bangkok, the city came to life & tourists poured in to the temple in perfecting timing just as we completed our engagement photoshoot in Bangkok. It was a real honour to be able to capture these special memories for such a sweet & loving couple, & I feel blessed to have a backdrop so beautiful as these ancient Bangkok temples. Lilly & Kyle – thank you for setting your alarms early & I wish you so much love for your married life. See you in New Zealand sometime! Nx

If you are planning your destination wedding or elopement in Bangkok or anywhere else in Thailand I would love to be your photographer… Please do get in touch here.
