Silchester House wedding, Reading

Alternative London wedding photographer – A gold & blush pink 1930s Gatsby Silchester House wedding in Reading, Berkshire – Anna & Darren

‘Dear Natalie, Hope you are well, you may remember me from Maddie & Dan Flint’s wedding back in 2012, I was one of her bridesmaids. I absolutely loved your pictures & you seamlessly became part of the day & made everyone so relaxed. I recently got engaged to Dan’s cousin Darren. We met at Maddie & Dan’s wedding & our daughter Erin was born last June. It would be so special if you could shoot our day not only because you are such a talented photographer but you were there when we met! We are looking at October, it be great to know your availability & rates. We haven’t confirmed our venue yet so their is some flexibility in that. Maddie will be a bridesmaid & art directing, not that she knows this yet!! I look forward to hearing from you, Anna’

Well, now here’s an email that gave me goosebumps!!

Of course I remembered both Anna & Darren, & how wonderful that they got together at a wedding that I photographed. Now here they were asking me to capture their own wedding story – such a special, special thing! Fast forward a few (a lot!) of excited email exchange & Anna asked me if I was available in May 2016 instead of October 2016, as their dream venue of Silchester House wedding venue in Reading, Berkshire suddenly had availability. The date was my final available date for the summer… in Annas’s words ‘It was meant to be!’.

Anna & Darren’s ‘meant to be’ wedding still gives me goosebumps! Anna styled the day herself along with Maddie (who is an art director for tv shows) & the day was a beautiful whirl of gold, blush pink, golden pineapples, sequin tablecloths & a 1930s Gatsby theme. Just perfect! Blue-eyed baby Erin was a huge part of their day & (unbeknown then to Anna & Darren) the couple’s second daughter Grace was also present – they found out shortly after the wedding that Anna was pregnant & Grace was born in February 2017. How wonderful to have captured the story of their parents’ wedding day, for Erin & Grace to look & smile over when they grow up. It’s always such a privilege to capture these stories for my couples & their families!
