PARIS WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY, CHAPELLE EXPIATORE
Paris wedding photography at Chapelle Expiatore
Morgan and Jordan are childhood sweethearts, and their dream was to get married with a beautiful destination wedding in Paris. The couple live in Denver, Colorado and planned their wedding with a classy monochrome theme and lots of personal touches. Morgan emailed me to enquire about their Paris wedding photography, Chapelle Expiatore was their ceremony venue and the wedding party would include 25 close family members and friends. What a way to celebrate a wedding; with your loved ones in the city of love!
Stylish black and white destination wedding in Paris
As is common with American weddings, the couple opted for a first look together. They met just after sunrise at Trocadero overlooking the iconic Eiffel Tower, Morgan wore an incredible satin Maggie Sottero gown and Jordan chose an all-black tuxedo and shirt. We spent a couple of hours capturing their couple photographs around some Parisian sights including the Louvre and Pont Alexandre III bridge, before their bridal party joined us for group photographs at the Eiffel Tower. Though the rain had set in, everyone braved the downpour remarkably – how beautiful Paris is, in the rain! – then we visited sights such as Jardin du Luxembourg and Palais Royal for more photographs. Everyone rested for a couple of hours before the wedding ceremony at Chapelle Expiatore – a stunning chapel in the 8th arrondissement of Paris, dedicated to Louis XVI and wife Marie Antoinette. The white roses were in bloom and the location was perfect for the couple’s emotional ceremony. Morgan and Jordan wrote their own vows and had personalised vow books made, which is always a lovely idea!
Paris wedding reception boat cruise down the River Seine
The wedding party enjoyed a reception on a boat cruise down the River Seine, and wedding stylists Studi Ohlala decorated the space beautifully. A boat cruise is a really lovely alternative to a typical reception venue, and we passed all the Paris tourist locations. On our return journey, the Eiffel Tower lit up in all it’s sparkly beauty just as the couple were having their first dance. A really magical evening after an incredible wedding in Paris!
