Brooklyn engagement shoot, NYC

Brooklyn engagement photography – Coney Island & Dumbo pre-wedding photography in New York City – Hannah & Adam

Brooklyn engagement photography at Coney Island & Dumbo in NYC

‘Omg! We’re sat in Starbucks looking at these & I’m literally crying! They’re all absolutely stunning & I can’t believe how good you made me look running into a group of birds! Cannot say it enough, your work is exquisite & we love that you’re here on our adventure with us.’

Hannah & Adam originally booked me to photograph their wedding in Nottingham, UK. 18 months before the big day Hannah came to see me… ‘Our plans have changed a little bit so I think it’s easier if we speak in person’ she said to me & so we met up to discuss their new plans. As it turned out, Hannah & Adam had decided to cancel their big wedding plans to follow their hearts & elope to New York City where they had always dreamed of visiting. So the plane tickets were booked & this is where we start – meeting one humid September afternoon at Union Square Park in the heart of Manhattan, before getting the thankfully-air-conditioned subway down to Coney Island for the couple’s pre-wedding NYC engagement shoot.

Sunset over the Manhattan skyline & the most amazing sunset ever!

As much as capturing photographs, I use engagement photoshoots for my couple to have some valuable time together before their wedding day, to laugh & to adventure. What a brilliant day we had! This will go up there in my favourite days ever. 2 days before their Central Park wedding, this was Hannah & Adam’s first time visiting Coney Island, the cloudy skies overhead making the heat slightly less intense. We enjoyed the couple’s Brooklyn engagement photoshoot at Coney Island by drinking giant sodas, exploring the street art & exciting at the American-ness of it all, before journeying back up to Dumbo to view the Brooklyn Bridge. Then we went for PIZZA… we found the most amazing pizza parlour where we had some well-deserved & ridiculously-enjoyed pizza pie. As Adam threw away our trash he noticed the light outside – so we sat on the banks of the East River to watch the sun set over the Manhattan skyline in the most amazing show of oranges & pinks & purples as the twinkling lights lit up the skyscrapers one by one. My goodness it was magical – yes, there were tears. What better way to end an amazing couple of hours Brooklyn engagement shoot than cocktails – atop a Manhattan rooftop overlooking the Empire State Building. Perfect!

Thank you Hannah & Adam for being just wonderful, & thank you NYC for putting on such an amazing show. Just, wow. Nx
