BROOKLYN ENGAGEMENT PHOTOGRAPHY – CONEY ISLAND AND DUMBO PRE-WEDDING PHOTOSHOOT IN NEW YORK CITY
Brooklyn engagement photography at Coney Island and Dumbo in NYC
Hannah and Adam originally booked me to photograph their wedding in Nottingham, UK. 18 months before the big day Hannah came to see me… “Our plans have changed a little bit so I think it’s easier if we speak in person” she said to me and so we met up to discuss their new plans. As it turned out, Hannah and Adam had decided to cancel their big wedding plans to follow their hearts and elope to New York City where they had always dreamed of visiting. So the plane tickets were booked and this is where we start – meeting one humid September afternoon at Union Square Park in the heart of Manhattan, before getting the thankfully-air-conditioned subway down to Coney Island for the couple’s pre-wedding NYC engagement shoot.
Engagement photoshoot with the Manhattan skyline and the most amazing sunset ever!
As much as capturing photographs, I use engagement photoshoots for my couple to have some valuable time together before their wedding day, to laugh and to adventure. 2 days before their Central Park wedding, we met for the couple’s engagement shoot and what a brilliant day we had! This will go up there in my favourite days ever. This was Hannah and Adam’s first time visiting Coney Island, the cloudy skies overhead making the heat slightly less intense. We enjoyed the couple’s Brooklyn engagement photoshoot at Coney Island by drinking giant sodas, exploring the street art and exciting at the American-ness of it all, before journeying back up to Dumbo to view the Brooklyn Bridge. Then we went for PIZZA… we found the most amazing pizza parlour where we had some well-deserved and ridiculously-enjoyed pizza pie. As we were walking back to the subway station we noticed the light of the sunset – so we sat on the banks of the East River to watch the sun set over the Manhattan skyline in the most amazing show of oranges and pinks and purples as the twinkling lights lit up the skyscrapers one by one. My goodness it was magical – yes, there were tears. What better way to end an amazing couple of hours Brooklyn engagement shoot than cocktails – atop a Manhattan rooftop overlooking the Empire State Building. Perfect!
“Oh my god! We’re sat in Starbucks looking at these & I’m literally crying! They’re all absolutely stunning and I can’t believe how good you made me look running into a group of birds! Cannot say it enough, your work is exquisite and we love that you’re here on our adventure with us.”
Thank you Hannah and Adam for being just wonderful, and thank you NYC for putting on such an amazing show. Just, wow. Nx
